Who's Who in the Crown Court
Use the clues below to help you.
- In a Crown Court the Judge and Lawyers all wear wigs.
- The Judge is in charge of the court and sits at the front so that he can see everyone in the court room.
- The Defendant (or person accused of the crime) is brought into court by a Policeman or security guard. For most of the trial the defendant stands at the back of the court room.
- A Court Clerk sits near the Judge and keeps a record of everything that happens in court.
- The Jury is made up of 12 members of the public
- A Witness is someone who saw the crime happen or has other useful information. They stand in the `witness box` to tell the court what they have seen.
