Why is this service not nationwide?

The pilot runs for 12 months and then it will be evaluated by the Home Office. A decision will then be taken on whether the pilot is rolled out nationally.

Warwickshire Police volunteered to pilot this work because, where appropriate, disclosure to carers, parents or guardians could help increase protection for a child or young person.

There are four areas currently offering this service: Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire, Cleveland and Hampshire.

My friend lives in Warwickshire and she can check out her new boyfriend to see if he has a record of child sexual offences. I can't because I don't live in Warwickshire - that doesn't seem fair.
